Tim Benz lose his mind over and possibly his job over Gun Control.

Tim Benz, shock-jock for 105.9 fm Pittsburgh, also known as "The X" quit his show on Friday on live radio. Awesome story. Benz got caught arguing with listeners and people on social media about gun control. Benz is a supporter of stricter gun laws.

“There was a flare-up about gun control on the show, which included a good deal of flashback against the station,” Benz said. “I wasn't able to walk away from the fight ... (so) I decided to step away from the Morning Show.” -- quote from Craig Smith's article in the Trib http://triblive.com/news/adminpage/3450451-74/benz-gun-station#ixzz2KRHuRgPn

Benz was arguing about a Pittsburgh gun shop giving away a bunch of ammunition and rifles. Benz's show is supposed to be about Pittsburgh sports and sometimes he puts really dumb and really hot strippers and such on there. I guess the 2nd amendment is a big deal....

Here's more from the Smith article:
Benz concedes he is passionate about the issue of gun control. He said his polarizing opinions seem to be misunderstood.
“It's a personal battle that I may have waged on the airwaves too often for the format. It's a topic I feel passionately about,” he said. “And that passion has gotten in the way of doing the show in the manner in which it should be done.”
John Moschitta, program director for Clear Channel Communications, the station's parent, did not return calls seeking comment.
Benz said he did not resign and plans to honor his contract however the station sees fit — on the air in a different capacity or off the air.

If Benz doesn't lose his job will The X really put him back on the air? I know I would if I were them. He's a shock-jock and now he's more famous than ever. Really, I maybe have listened to that show five times in my life, but if he's on the air Monday I'll tune in. Especially after this Facebook post he made.

Yikes! Again if I'm "The X" I let him back with an apology just to boost ratings. Sorry but that's how radio works but Benz might be in trouble with the threats, even if he was kidding. This is something  I know about. When you say you support government drones, so long as they are targeting your house, you've obviously lost control of your emotions. That's how you lose your job and end up in trouble with the law.
