Steelers schedule announced

The NFL annoucned it's 2011 schedule this week despite the fact that the thought of a "lockout" looms over the league. Of course a lot of Pittsburgh Steeeler fans are getting excited and talking about the Steelers schedule, which is pretty difficult to say the least.

The Steelers start the year off at Baltimore against their number one rival, the Ravens. I have to question as to why the game is in Baltimore, and why it isn't a prime time game. This is the best rivalry in the NFL and it's a 1 pm start time on opening week? Doesn't make sense to me.

The next week the Steelers host the Seattle Seahawks in their home opener, in a rematch of Super Bowl XL.

Week three excites me the most as the Steelers travel to Indianapolis to take on Peyton Manning and the Colts. Two elite quarterbacks, two elite teams, and this one is in prime time. Jackpot!

The Steelers then continue to play out the next three weeks against the rest of the AFC South division. They travel to Houston to take on the high-powered offense of the Texans, here's hoping they resign Ike Taylor. Then they have back to back home games against teams that generally give them trouble in Jacksonville and Tennessee.

The Steelers have to travel to Arizona, to take on the Cardinals for the first time since they met in Super Bowl XLIII. Hopefully Kurt Warner doesn't make a comeback.

October 30th should be fun as the New England Patriots come to Heinz Field to give the Steelers another ass-whooping. Honestly how the hell can Steeler fans get excited about this?

The next two weeks are divisional match-ups between the hated Ravens, this time at home, and then the Cincinnati Bengals. I actually expect back to back wins here.

After the bye the schedule looks real good on paper, which means the Steelers will find a way to mess it up. The Steelers travel to Kansas City, remember the last time they went there. Then they have back to back home games with against the Browns and Bengals. #winning.  They finish the season on the road against the 49ers, home against the Rams, and at Cleveland. Honestly anything less than 4-2 in the final six games would be a travesty.

In all honesty I really can't get myself to get excited about the season because there might not even be a season. Right now a lockout is looming all over the 2011 season. What a dicktease by the NFL to announce the schedule.

However, if the season is played I expect an 11-5 record by your Pittsburgh Steelers and a big season by your quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. Jackpot!
