All Aboard the Pedro Alvarez Express

Tell your friends and your family to get their tickets for the Pedro Alvarez bandwagon quick, it's starting to fill up already...Ok maybe I'm gettting a little too excited for a guy who is batting .203...but I don't really care. I'm excited for Alvarez and his future, which considering how it was looking earlier, is a great great thing.

El Toro already has more home runs(5) this year than he did all of last year(4). That's 200 less at bats and 56 less games to pass last year's home run totals. Now that's not impressive considering that Alvarez sucked more than Kim Kardashian at a rap concert last year, but it's still exciting to see.

I for one want Alvarez to do well and become the player that he has the potential to be, no matter how big his ears are. Alvarez should be a guy hitting around 30 home runs every season, driving in around 80-90 rbi at least. Right now Alvarez is still struggling in some areas. His strikeout-walk ratio is a horrid 22-3 and he only has 9 rbi on the season....But the home runs and extra base hits are a good sign of things to come.

Alvarez is still maturing as a person and a player. If the kid can build on his confidence he should be able to finally grow into a servicable power hitter for the Buccos. To me, at least as a batter he looks like Carlos Pena. I'll take that. I don't really care about the strike outs as long as he's hitting 25-35 homes a year.

Alvarez is never going to be a guy hitting .300 but I'll take him hitting .200 if he's putting balls out of the park and driving in runs.

For those us in the social media world, Alvarez doing well is nothing but fun.

All aboard the El Toro express.
