Mike Milbury Goes Hard On Alex Ovechkin

Mike Milbury is usually one of my least favorite people in the world and I hate when he speaks. But he is right about Alexander Ovechkin. Ovechkin is probably the most overrated athlete in the NHL and maybe pro sports right now. Ovechkin signed a 13-year $124 million contract with the Washington Capitals a few years ago. Last year Ovechkin failed to average a point a game which is appalling considering he makes $9 million a year.

The thing about Ovechkin is if he's not scoring goals he's not helping his team at all. He does give great effort, doesn't backcheck or forecheck, doesn't play any kind of real defense, he's a one-trick pony who hasn't evolved at all. Now he's stinking the join up. I can't even believe I'm agreeing with Milbury but he's dead on about Ovechkin.

Hey Pens fans remember when people tried to say that Ovechkin was better than Sidney Crosby? Hahahahahahaha. Crosby has improved literally every aspect of his game. He's one of the most talented players in the world and he still works just as hard if not harder than any player in the world. That's what makes him the best player. Ovechkin's career is taking a complete skydive, like that meteor in Russia. Maybe that was just a metaphor for Ovechkin's career?

Ovechkin is now averaging less than one point per game for the second year in a row. The Capitals have the worst record in the NHL. At this point I'm not sure what is wrong with Ovechkin. Someone needs to help him. I know this is a cliche thing to say but the NHL is a better place when Ovechkin is playing well. But now he's just a bad joke.
