More Matt Cooke Hate. Something about Balls.

Matt Cooke "hatefest" was a dud for Ottawa last night. The Pens beat their team with mostly backup players in the lineup and without any help from the refs. Cooke had a point when he made a great play in the offensive zone to assist on a Tyler Kennedy goal.

Of course, Cooke and the Pens didn't leave without controversy. Before the game, Mike Milbury of all-people called Cooke a skunk. I really don't care what Milbury thinks but he still has a large audience to spew garbage from his mouth so I'll complain about him nonetheless.




I guess if Milbury wants to call guys goons he has the right since he was a goon as a player and a coach. Now he's a goon as a commentator.



This is whatever. Fuck Milbury.

What is more bizarre is the article that Don Brennan wrote about Cooke. The name of the article is "Why is Pittsburgh Penguins' Matt Cooke so interested in Don Brennan's package?" If that doesn't sound like something me or another blogger would write I don't know what is.

Here's a taste of what Brennan wrote:

Cooke must have read the Ottawa Sun on his way to the rink because something in it clearly had him rattled. And I'm still not sure which part.

He wanted to tell me I have no balls. At first I think he said "small balls." But by the time he had finished, and knew Penguins GM Ray Shero was listening, he had decided I had none. Oh, and I believe he also mumbled something about me having no penis before disappearing into the players-only room, which I found interesting.

I will not take this opportunity to, ahem, brag about my manhood."

Judging by this article, the editor at the Ottawa Sun should be fired for letting this garbage go through, and Mr. Don Brennan either really does have no balls, or just freakishly small ones. 

I know I'm just a blogger but had I finished college in journalism I would be embarrassed to call Brennan my peer. This is trash. Something that a blog could get away with but to publish that shit in a newspaper is beyond embarrassing. 

Furthermore, everyone knows Cooke isn't a saint. He's done some fucked up things on the ice, but he's also worked his ass off to change his ways. It's one thing to say you'll change it's another to actually change. 

Then, Ottawa's fan-base and media have truly shown how hypocritical they are by throwing stones at Cooke but referring to Chris Neil as a local hero. That dude is a bum-ass goon and nothing more. He should have been tossed from the game last night for his putrid attempt to play hockey. He was inciting fights and taking runs at players and nothing more.

Cooke and the Pens got the last laugh though. Ottawa's fans and team cared so much about Cooke that they forgot that they're fighting for the playoffs. Winnipeg won again last night and now Ottawa might not make the playoffs. So who are the goons now?
