Hines Ward Being on Dancing with the Stars Is Laughable

So Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward is going to be on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars". Ward will become the third active player in NFL history to join the show's cast. To me, this is completely laughable.  

I have to ask how would Hines Ward react if a teammate followed a subpar season by appearing on

"Dancing With the Stars"? Furthermore, how would Ward react if any other Steeler was on the show after losing in the Super Bowl?

Ward likes to make Steelers fans think he is the ultimate teammate and the ultimate good guy, but the truth is Ward only cares about himself. 

If Troy Polamalu was on the show, after playing some of the worst football of his career in the playoffs and after the losing effort in the Super Bowl, Ward would certainly call him out.

It would have been even worse if Ben Roethlisberger would have been on the show. Ward has already called out Ben before, and he would have certainly done it again if that would have been the case. 

Of course, Ward will receive little backlash from Steelers fans, because to them, Ward can do no wrong. Most of them refuse to admit that his career is slowly coming to an end. Fact is, with Mike Wallace, Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown all emerging, Ward's role on the team is starting to diminish. 

I also have to question how big a star Ward really is. He's not even a B-lister to me. The cast as a whole is full of C- and D-listers. It should be called "Dancing with the Minor Celebrities". Ward had trouble getting open all year. He's lost a step and is no longer the playmaker he once was. Doesn't mean he's not a good player, but he's nowhere near what he once was. To me, Ward going on DWTS is him trying to get one last gasp at "stardom" because his star as a football player is fading. 

After having a down year and losing the Super Bowl, the last thing Ward should be doing is going on a reality show. Who's he trying to be, Ochocinco? 

If it were another Steeler, especially Big Ben, Ward would call him selfish and say that he should be focusing on avenging the Super Bowl loss. That's exactly what Ward should be doing.
