No Shortcuts for LeBron James

Almost a year ago, LeBron James sat down in front of millions of viewers, and announced that he would be “taking his talents to the Miami Heat,” and leaving his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, in the dark.

Although I could care less about Cleveland sports, what LeBron did was an act of selfishness and arrogance. Sure, he was probably thinking about how he’ll NEVER be compared with Jordan until he at least shortens the NBA title gap, (6-0 Jordan), but what he was forgetting was that Jordan did not win a championship until he was 28-years-old.

Regardless of why LeBron left Cleveland, he did not realize that building a “franchise” takes time. Look at what he had already done in Cleveland. He took them from being one of the worst teams in the NBA, to the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

A year later, LeBron remains in the same spot. Packing up and going home, living in a nation who looks at him as a traitor, and ringless.

So can we please stop comparing him with Michael Jordan?
