Most of you already know the facts, Ex-Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky was arrested Nov. 5 and
charged with over 40 counts of sexual abuse and corruption of minors. Sandusky retired in 1999 and was an
assistant coach for Penn State, under Joe Paterno for 32 seasons.
Sandusky continued to use the Penn State facilities and lived on campus after his retirement. Sandusky and his wife have adopted six children and started the organization called "The Second Mile" which originally was a foster home but has broadened its role in support of at-risk and underprivileged youngsters, serving more than 100,000 children in Pennsylvania each year.
Some things to think about:
According to the indictment, Paterno had known about a specific allegation against Sandusky in 2002, when supposedly a Penn State football graduate assistant walked in on the former Penn State coach performing a sex act on a 10-year-old boy in a shower. That grad assistant is k Mike McQueary, the current wide receivers coach for Penn State. Paterno then reported the incident to athletic director Tim Curley.
So Paterno knew that Sandusky was having sex with young boys. Yes he told Curley who is the higher-up than Paterno, but was that the only thing Paterno could have/ should have done?
Legally Paterno can't get in any trouble. Morally he is wrong. Paterno is the face of Penn State. Paterno is Penn State. Paterno is a God to Penn State fans and alumni and is one of the most respected men in sports history. Paterno also prides himself on being a family man. Paterno has so much power at Penn State and so many followers/supporters that he can certainly have any problem, big or small, resolved at Penn State.
That being said Paterno did not do the right thing. He told Curley and that was it. Other than that he covered up for a child molester. Anyone that covers up for a child molester is morally wrong and deserves whatever is coming to them.
I know Penn State students and fans love Paterno and some will defend him to the end of his life and even after. That being said I would never-ever defend a man who covered up for a child-molester.
Below is a video of Paterno addressing a mob of fans outside of his home in Happy Valley.

How can you support Paterno at this point? I love football, I mean I love football. I have quit a job because they wouldn't give me Sundays off to watch the Steelers' games. That being said I would never support a Steelers' player or coach who molested children and/or covered up for someone that did.
There are petty crimes and there are sick acts against human life. If one of my best friends steals a candy bar or something similar in value I'm not going to call the cops. Hell I might not even call them out on it.
But if one of my best friends or colleagues molests/rapes a child, I would be compelled to not only call the police, but possibly harm them physically.
Penn State fans, wake up, Paterno kept his mouth shut when he knew a child/children were raped. That's wrong on so many levels.
Paterno is not the only one wrong here.McQueary actually witnessed a child being molested in a shower. How in the hell do you not do something about that. The guilt would eat me alive. I would have gone into that shower and beat the living shit out of Sandusky.
University President Graham Spanier is also a big douche bag. Spanier has given public unconditional support to AD Tim Curley and Vice President Gary Schultz, the two administrators facing perjury charges. Unbelievable.
To be honest I'm not sure how Penn State gets passed this. They need to clean house with everyone that is involved, Curley, McQueary, Shultz, and even Joe Pa himself.
There are a lot of losers in this case. The fans, alumni, present players, coaches, past players and coaches should all feel angry and disappointed. Those who are innocent and were/are unaware of what was going on should be angry and hopefully good things come to them.
My heart goes out to all of those kids and their families. Sandusky gets whatever bad things are coming to him. In this life and the next.
