As it has been widely publicised over the past few days, the first call between newly acquired OL David Decastro and Big Ben was anything but usual. The veteran QB placed the call to Decastro as an introductory call to the Steelers. Thinking it was a secretary, Decastro has been quoted asking Ben, "Did you get those flight plans?".
After a few seconds he realized who it was and I'm sure he was quite embarrassed with the question. Not the best way to start his Steelers career, but hey it's better than mistaking Mike Tomlin for Omar Epps (I'm not making this up people actually think they look alike, if you don't believe me then google it).
Decastro should prepare himself for a little bantering from his new teammates, but I am sure they won't stop there. Anything from re-painting rookie cars to sticky glue in their helmets, a quick search on the Internet will provide hours of rookie hazing stories. The Dallas Cowboys made Dez Bryant feel welcomed a few years back by sticking him with a $55,000 restaurant bill after refusing to carry the pads of teammate Roy Williams.

Brett Favre was known to stick dead wild turkeys in rookie lockers during practice. Now Favre is probably drinking Wild Turkey hoping a team will give him another chance to throw more interceptions. Teams have even gone as far as banning rookie hazing, and I'm sure Roger Goodell would love to start throwing out suspensions to every player involved in any hazing incident that has ever happened.
But don't expect much for the young rookie. We know the Steelers are a classy organization and anything more than a few jokes to Decastro would be a surprise. With OTA's on the horizon look for Decastro to recognize Big Ben's voice a little better in the future.
