"I was glad we broke his nose," Harbaugh said (via SteelersDepot.com), "and then I was very impressed that he played through it."
"Obviously, you can throw very effectively with a broken nose. He proved that."
"We're going to try and get after him like we always do," Harbaugh said of the Ravens' play for Saturday. "That's a key to stopping him."
Ben received a broken nose at the hands of Haloti Ngata on the Steeler's first play from scrimmage. The crazy thing about the play was that there was no penalty called on the play. Despite the fact that Ben is a quarterback and it could have either been called roughing or illegal hands to the face and/or head.
Ben, who was already playing with a broken bone in his foot, played through both injuries and eventually threw the game-winning touchdown pass. I have no problem with Harbaugh saying that the Ravens are going to come after Ben.
However, I do see some hypocrisy with what he's saying. It seems Harbaugh has now completely changed his stance on illegal hits. Before the last game he was all full of righteous indignation when he said the Ravens played football the “right way” and was appalled that guys like James Harrison “doesn't get it."
Harbaugh isn't the only member of the Ravens' organization talking.
Safety Ed Reed said that his brother would want them to beat the Steelers. Reed's brother turned up missing after apparently jumping into the Mississippi River.
It seems as though the Ravens are trying to get a psychological edge against the Steelers. I'm just not sure if it's going to work. That being said it sure is making the build up to this huge game that much more fun.
