Video of Hines Ward

Hines Ward, the self-proclaimed "leader of the wideouts" getting handcuffed by the L.A.P.D. What if that were Ben? Yinz would be up in arms. Number seven jerseys would be getting burnt by the masses. There would be Facebook pages against him.

Not Hines. Hines can never do any wrong. Ben can never do any right. If Hines drops a pass or fumbles the ball, he gets up and smiles, and yinz all support him. If Ben throws an incomplete pass, gets sacked, or throws a pick, yinz all boo and yell "Put Charlie Batch in!".

Right now some of the Steelers are working out on their own despite the lockout. The workouts are being run by none other than Big Ben. Where's Hines at? Oh yeah he's on Dancing With the Stars and getting pulled over in a stolen car at 2 am in Los Angeles. I guess he doesn't have to workout with the team.

I love the double standard. What if Ben would have went on Dancing With the Stars after the Steelers lost the Super Bowl? What if Ben would have worn that ridiculous sailor suit? Furthemore, what if Ben would have called one of his best players out on national tv for not playing in a game? What if Ben held out of training camp for more money?

Yinz would have never lived it down. It's ok though because it's Hines.

Hines will always get a free pass. He's a made man in Pittsburgh. Does what he wants, when he wants. He could say he hates white people and kill school children and yinz would still love him because "he plays the game hard".

Hines is supposed to be a leader. He's 35 years old and is at the end of his career. His production is declining and he's starting to get slow. Yet he's on a celebrity tv show. Yet he's out partying all night. Meanwhile, Ben is making sure the rest of the team is working out and building chemistry. That's what a leader does. Ben is also getting married this summer and has made his religion a priority.

Ben's made some mistakes but he was young and immature. Hines is an NFL veteran. What's his excuse?
