Well, well, well, former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kordell Stewart has been arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license. Authorities say former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Kordell Stewart has been charged with driving with a suspended license.
Apparently not only was he driving without a license, he was also speeding. Go for the gold Kordell.
The man, the legend, the quarterback that looks like "Black Frankenstien" is a legend as far as I'm concerned. His lure in Pittsburgh sports history will never be forgotten. The man was one of the greatest athletes in Steeler's history, quarterbacking two different teams to the AFC Championship. The man played punter, quarterback, running back, and reciever for the Steelers throughout his career.
Eventually though, Stewart was not a championship caliber quarterback. He lost both of his starts in the AFC Championship game appearances, throwing multiple picks in both. Stewart was rather inconsitent, wild, and got frustrated very easily.
Fulton County sheriff's spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said Stewart, 38, was booked into jail Wednesday in the Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta on that and a speeding charge.
She says he was freed on a $3,000 bond about four hours later.
Flanagan says Stewart is set to appear in court July 12. It wasn't immediately known whether he has an attorney.
The Louisiana native played in the NFL for 11 seasons after starring at the University of Colorado. He spent eight seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, from 1995 through 2002, and also played for the Chicago Bears in 2003 and Baltimore Ravens in 2004-05. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2002.
ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said the network had just learned about the incident and was looking into it.
Here's to you Kordell.
