Carson Palmer retires
Carson has retired," said Lewis, who unlike owner Mike Brown has already turned the page. Lewis confirmed that the Bengals will pursue a veteran quarterback to compete with rookie Andy Dalton and Jordan Palmer. Free agent Bruce Gradkowski is a nice fit on paper. Dalton will open camp as Cincinnati's starter.-
It looks like Carson Palmer will not play football ever again. Not that big of a deal, I just find it funny because I remember those that named him the next great qb after he lead the Cincinnati Bengals to an AFC North division title in 2005. Palmer had great fantasy football numbers but just wasn't a winner.
46-51 as a starter.
I also remember those that said Palmer was a better quarterback than Ben Roethlisberger. (LOL) Excuse me as I bask in my glory of being right once again. I always new Palmer was a fraud. I personally just blame fantasy football. Palmer had decent stats but he had a great receiving core and threw the ball around a lot.
Not to mention that Palmer will now retire behind Roethlisberger in almost every single important passing category with a below .500 career record as a starter. Not only that but Palmer was the opposite of clutch. He didn't throw a ton of interceptions, but when he did it was usually in the fourth quarter with the game on the line.
Again, not a winner.
Palmer isn't retiring, he's quitting. Quitting on his team, quitting on the city of Cincinnati, and quitting on himself. What a loser.
