NFL Season Predictions, Divisions to Individual Awards

Because tonight is the first NFL game of the season, I decided to do a full out prediction for the season.  This is going to include every division with rankings, rounds of the playoffs, and individual awards.  I don't want to take full credit for this format, the originals can be found at www.cbssports.com.  Anyway, here it goes.

NFC East: 1) Philadelphia 2) Dallas 3) N.Y. Giants 4) Washington
NFC North: 1) Green Bay 2) Detroit 3) Chicago 4) Minnesota
NFC South: 1) New Orleans 2) Atlanta 3) Tampa Bay 4) Carolina
NFC West: 1) Arizona 2) St. Louis 3) Seattle 4) San Francisco

NFC wild card: Atlanta over Arizona; New Orleans over Dallas
NFC divisional: Green Bay over Atlanta; New Orleans over Philadelphia
NFC championship: Green Bay over New Orleans

AFC East: 1) New England 2) N.Y. Jets 3) Miami 4) Buffalo
AFC North: 1) Pittsburgh 2) Baltimore 3) Cleveland 4) Cincinnati
AFC South: 1) Houston 2) Indianapolis 3) Tennessee 4) Jacksonville
AFC West: 1) San Diego 2) Kansas City 3) Oakland 4) Denver

AFC wild card: Baltimore over Houston; San Diego over N.Y. Jets
AFC divisional: Pittsburgh over Baltimore; San Diego over New England
AFC championship: Pittsburgh over San Diego

Super Bowl: Pittsburgh over Green Bay

Individual awards

MVP: Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay
The guy is just that good.  He is going to have another amazing year and will lead his team to another Super Bowl.

Offensive Player of the Year: Drew Brees, QB, New Orleans
Playing for a contract, I just think that he will put up some incredible numbers, along with leading his team to the NFC Championship game.

Coach of the Year: Mike Tomlin, Pittsburgh
Getting his team back to the Super Bowl will secure his spot here depending on the regular season record of the team.

Defensive Player of the Year: Demarcus Ware, OLB, Dallas
He’s a sack machine.  Lots of sacks usually means a good run at this award.

Offensive Rookie of the Year: A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati
Andy Dalton didn’t look too bad, and this kid is a freak.  They should be passing the ball a lot considering they will need to be scoring, a lot.

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Von Miller, LB, Denver
He was one of my favorite defensive players coming out of the draft.  He will be an immediate impact.

Comeback Player of the Year: Tony Romo, QB, Dallas
After missing most of last season, Romo will look to come back and be just as effective as he was before he got hurt.  Not to mention he didn’t get much of a chance to target budding receiver Dez Bryant.

Team on the rise: Houston
Eventually this team has to be successful.  All of the offensive players are there, and with Wade Phillips calling the shots on the other side of the ball, look for them to make a move in to the playoffs.

Team on the decline: Indianapolis
No Peyton Manning.

Best free-agent signing: Nnamdi Asomugha, CB, Philadelphia
Will help lock down the pass defense for the Eagles, and could even help them progress through the playoffs as long as Vick stays healthy

Worst free-agent signing: Tarvaris Jackson, QB, Seattle
I though teams were supposed to try to get better…
