The defense will get some recognition for holding the Patriots to 17 points, but if you actually watched the game you would know that the Steelers' best defense was their offense. The Steelers had the ball for almost 40 of the 60 minutes in the game. Ball control biotch!
The ball control wasn't your daddy's Steelers' football either, no ground and pound. The Steelers based their game around their best player, and that's Roethlisberger. Roethlisberger threw the ball 50 times, 50 times, completing 36 passes for 365 yards, and two touchdowns.
Big Ben did have a pick that basically gave the Patriots their first touchdown, but besides that, wow, one of the greatest games of his career. Roethlisberger outplayed Brady, making tough throws, avoiding the pass rush, and was great on third downs. The Steelers had 23 first-downs via the pass.
The Patriots tried to take away the deep ball and paid for it. Roethlisberger did a good job taking what the defense gave him, beating Brady and the Pats at their own game with short and accurate passes.
Roethlisberger is now having a Pro Bowl season and could even receive some MVP votes this year. This team is built around Roethlisberger and should be. There is no doubt that Roethlisberger, who has already won 2 Super Bowls, is an elite-top 5 qb in the NFL, and is now well on his way to becoming a Future Hall of Famer.
Bitches Take Those Shots! All hail Ben!
