Matt Cooke Destroys Erik Karlsson's Achilles

R.I.P. Erik Karlsson's achilles. Last night in the Pens 4-2 win over Ottawa, Matt Cooke ACCIDENTALLY destroyed Karlsson's achilles tendon. Now we've all seen the highlight a 100 times by now. So here's the video of the incident one more time.

Did they look intentional to you? I know it like Cookie just rode him into the boards. I can't say that I'm surprised that Ottawa Senators fans are going nuts, Karlsson's their best player, the Norris trophy winner from last year. And it just so happens that Cooke was involved. Everyone hates Matt Cooke.

Cooke has done a great job cleaning up his "dirty play" and don't get it wrong, even though I just used quotations around dirty play his play was indeed very dirty. But Cooke did change and he damn sure wouldn't try to slice someones achilles in a 4-2 game like that. It was an accident, accidents happen.

But Cooke will always carry a reputation and that reputation might get him suspended now, especially with Senators coach Bryan Murray saying shit like "It's Matt Cooke. What else should I say". Oh I don't know Mr. Murray how about shave the dumb-ass looking mustache off you fat fact?

The best was when Chris Neil went after Cooke a few minutes later. Neil was purposely looking for Cooke trying to avenge his teammate. Cooke then tried to throw Neil's stick over the glass. Classic Matt Cooke.

Sens fans we know how YINZ feel. Remember Sidney Crosby being out for a year and a half? Yeah so do we. It the hit that put Crosby out with a concussion, courtesy of David Steckel looked way more intentional than the play by Cooke last night.

As bad and intentional as that hit was I don't remember any Pen's fans wishing the death of Washington Capitals fan's sons. Cooke has done some really dirty and really intentional stuff in the past, but last night was a bad accident. I wish Karlsson a speedy recovery and I hope he plays sooner than later because he's a really great player.

Anyways, it's Valentine's Day, so ladies who's trying to give me a foot massage. Just watch my achilles, it's ticklish.
