Pittsburgh Penguins sign Deryk Engelland to an extension

Courtesy of Pittsburgh Penguins.com, the Pens have resigned Deryk Engelland to an extension. The new contract is for three years. Engelland is becoming a much better hockey player, but he's mostly know as a tough guy.

It's going to be interesting to see what the Pens do with their defensive core in the future. They have seven NHL defensemen signed for next year and still have some good looking prospects in the farm system, including Simon Despres.
