Pens on a roll. Beat the Senators 5-1

The Pittsburgh Penguins looked great on Sunday against a depleted, bottom of the barrel Edmonton Oilers team, beating them 5-1.

The Pens were in action on Tuesday night taking on a similar team in the Ottawa Senators, in Ottawa. There were many story-lines for the game Alexei Kovalev's return to Ottawa, Sergei Gonchar facing his former team, and the fact that Sidney Crosby's return continues to look more and more likely.

The Pens absolutely dominated the Senators in all aspects of the game. They defeated them 5-1, and out-shot them 41-22.

The three stars of the game were:

3. Jordan Staal- Staal scored 1 goal and had 1 assist. Staal played 21:13 and was a +3 for the night.

2. Chris Kunitz- Kunitz had 3 assists on the night. Kunitz was also a +3 for the night.

1. Tyler Kennedy- TK had 1 goal and 1 assist, and was a +2 for the night.

People continue to hate on Kennedy, mostly because of his physical appearence, but the fact is he is having a fantastic year, and should get much more respect.

Pens fans continue to treat Maxime Talbot like a savior and bash Kennedy, who is a much more talented and productive player than Talbot.

Notes on the game:

Nine different Penguins registered a point against the Senators. Staal, Kunitz, Kennedy, Paul Martin, Ben Lovejoy, Zbyenek Michalek, Matt Cooke, Dustin Jeffery, and Alexei Kovalev.

Ben Lovejoy scored a goal. Pisses me off because people are going to start thinking that he's actually a good player.

Derek Engelland had 15 penalty minutes, including a 10-minute game-misconduct. Wow.

Dustin Jeffery recorded two assists. He's the main reason the Pens can get rid of the very overrated Max Talbot after this year.

Brent Johnson was very good and is a good backup. Yay!

Segei Gonchar played 21 minutes but I can't remember him even being out there.

Corey Potter didn't play that bad but isn't a NHL defenseman.

I'm still waiting to hear word on Mark Letestu.

The Pens power-play still sucks. 0-5

The Pens don't play again until Sunday afternoon when they talk on the New York Rangers.

Their next few games are not easy at all.

They face the Rangers, the Red Wings, the Flyers, and the Devils in the next four games. Damn.

Lets go Pens.
