Andrew McCutchen Blossoming Into Star

Expectations for Andrew McCutchen have been very high as the years go by. He has not dissapointed this season for the Bucs. After going without a home run for nearly 30 games, Cutch has rediscovered his power swing from last season.

A little over a fourth of the season is complete and Andrew is on pace for around 27 HR and 90 Rbi, not too shabby considering the rest of the team has been stagnate all year. His stolen base numbers are down, but he's producing more runs with his bat than his legs and that's what you need from your three hitter.

Pedro Alvarez' move to the cleanup spot has given Cutch the ability to see better pitches and he is certainly taking advantage of that. With an average of .340 he is 6th overall in the National league. He is well on his way to his second All Star appearance and is probably in the top ten if not top five in the MVP race. Once Alvarez can evolve into the home run threat he is capable of the one two punch he forms with Cutch could be reminiscent of the Bonds/Bonilla combination.

The front office is licking their chops after locking Cutch up for the next 6 seasons. If Huntington can add more talent around number 22, a hall of fame career is not out of the question.
