Baltimore Raven's All-Pro and future Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed told a Baltimore radio station that he is not committed to playing football this upcoming season. Wow that's big news.

In April Reed said in a radio interview with 105.7 The Fan in Baltimore that he wanted to play in 2012 but that nothing was etched in stone.
“I plan on playing,” Reed said in April. “Everybody in the world knows plans can change.”
Last season, Reed had 85 tackles and five interceptions, en route to helping Baltimore reach the AFC Championship game. Over the course of his career, he has 57 interceptions, six of which he has returned for touchdowns. The 33-year-old has played his entire career with the Ravens.
This is not good for the Ravens. The Ravens are already missing Terrell Suggs for what could be the entire 2012 season. Ray Lewis is getting older. The Ravens can not afford for Reed to retire or take a break from football. No Suggs + no Ed Reed would = big problem for their defense.
According to Rich Gannon, Reed is concerned about his health and long term future.
You can not hate on that. Good for Reed if he is worried about his health and well being after football. I would not call him a quitter so long that he gives his team a heads up before camp. Reed just can not let this decision linger. Do not be an Ass and go into camp undecided. Either play or don't.
If Reed chooses to not play what a mess the Ravens will be in. The Pittsburgh Steelers got younger and faster on both sides of the ball, and they upgraded their offensive line. The Ravens are getting older and would be without two of their best players. Ouch.
