I guess the headline of this post says it all, Mike Wallace of the Pittsburgh Steelers is literally a moron. Of course as a Steelers fan I'm upset that he's threatening a hold-out and is holding the Steelers hostage. That is not the only reason he is a moron though. I literally think if he took a I.Q. test he would fail, and I'm not even sure you can fail those things.
If you have ever heard Wallace talk or read his tweets on Twitter, you would know what I am talking about. Wallace fails to have any grasp on the English language. Not to say that I am the best because I make mistakes here and there but I can at least put together a proper sentence once in a while.
Wallace is currently a restricted free agent. The Steelers slapped a first-round tender on Wallace, and if he signs it he'll make $2.7 million this season. Wallace doesn't want to sign it though.Wallace intends to miss mini-camp, OTAs, and might even hold out out training camp.
My question is who in the Hell does Wallace think he is? Wallace, who calls himself "Da Kid"on Twitter thinks he is worth way more than he really is, I'll tell you that. Reports are that Wallace wants a deal worth over $100 million dollars. Again, Wallace wants a contract worth more than $100 million dollars. That's insane.
Wallace is a good player, but some would argue that Antonio Brown,Wallace's teammate, is going to be a more complete receiver. Wallace is a great deep-threat, but he is a mediocre route-runner, has average hands, can't take a hit, and can't make those amazing catches in the air like a Larry Fitzgerald or Calvin Johnson.
Not really sure if any receiver in the league should be paid more than elite quarterbacks, but I do know Wallace isn't one of them. Wallace can't even sniff Fitzgergald's and Megatron's jockstraps.
Last year Wallace had 100 yards or more in each of the first three games. Wallace did not reach 100 yards in each of the last 10 games of the season and had two big drops in the playoff game against the Denver Broncos. Wallace is a child and should be treated like one from here on out.
If Wallace doesn't sign his tender by June 15th, the Steelers can cut his contract to $577,500.Part of me hope this happens. He's a little brat and deserves to get this treatment.

Wallace has since bashed Steelers fans saying that they shouldn't worry about him and gloats about the beach and riding jet skis on a consistent basis on Twitter. All he cares about is money and himself. Which sucks because the Steelers have a team that should contend for a Super Bowl this year.
Wallace can be a big part of that. Instead he's too worried about getting paid. And it's not even that, Wallace wants way more than he's worth. As a Steelers fan I wish Wallace would have signed the tender and a team would have signed him away for the Steelers. If that would have happened the Steelers would have received that team's 1st round draft pick.
Instead the Steelers are stuck with this idiot. Wallace is a moron and is emulates everything that is wrong with professional sports. The last joke will be on him though, the Steelers consistently lose players, especially receivers. They lost Plaxico Burress and Santonio Holmes and still were successful. They have a franchise quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger who can make receivers look way better than they are. The Steelers are a franchise that will move on and succeed without Wallace.
I hope someone knocks some sense into "DA Kid".

What's wrong with him asking for more money? If another job offers you more money wouldn't you take it? Football is a business, not sure why you hate this guy for looking after himself. Go Steelers.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, maybe you should keep hiding behind that. He is a "restricted free agent" which means he does not have the right to look for work elseware! It is part of the CBA that the players agreed to.. The Steelers are doing what they have every right to do and Wallace should take the 2.7 mil and come prove that he is worth more! It sure worked out for Woodley..
ReplyDeleteI don't think he is upset because he is asking for more money. He has clearly outplayed the rookie contract but he is putting himself into the same category of Larry Fitz and Calvin Johnson with his demands. Now he is going to probably hold out and miss most of training camp, which does nothing but hurt the team. Especially with a new offensive coordinator and a rookie line, Wallace is going to need to be on the field and preparing for the season, not riding jetskis on the beach. This is what Mad Chad is referring to. Look at Chris Johnson last season, after rushing for 2000 yards he sat out most of camp and had the worst season of his career. Even NFL players have to practice. And by holding out and DEMANDING Larry Fitz money he is essentially saying Fuck You pay me my money. Either way you look at it, he is a free agent after the season so if he feels he deserves that kind of money than go out AND PLAY for it. If he plays like it, there's always a team that will pay you for it. Simple as that. So I agree with Mad Chad just shut up and go play and you will get paid. The Steelers organization is about class and respect, so show us some class and we will show you the green.
ReplyDeleteThe collective bargaining agreement doesn't say that he has to sign the tender immediately upon the team offering it. He has every right to sit out until week 10 if he wants and collect his $300,000. That's in the CBA. Just because he asks San Francisco for $100 million on an RFA deal doesn't mean he actually expects to get it. Hell, he could have asked for a billion if he wanted to. He probably threw out an offer that he couldn't refuse if they actually said yes.
ReplyDeleteThe Steelers hold Wallace's rights but he is not technically under contract until he signs that tender or works out another deal with the team. Which is how negotiations work. Did he ever ask Pittsburgh for $120 mil? I doubt it.
He's an idiot but let's be fair he does deserve more money. I don't know what kind of contract the Steelers would offer. I would say 6 years-$60 million would be fair...
