Harrison is currently trying to work on a deal with the Steeler's AFC North division rival Cincinnati Bengals as we speak. According to Adam Schefter those talks are far from close.
What's funny about Harrison going to the Bengals is that it would actually be for less money than he was going to make with the Steelers, even if he would have taken the pay cut that they asked him to take. That's how upset Harrison is over being cut by the Steelers.
Harrison fans will back him up by saying that he's just doing business but taking less money to play for a team that hasn't one a playoff game in over 20 years is a bad business decision. The Steelers should have tried their best to keep Harrison but they didn't and now Harrison is butt-hurt about it.
But what's with the revenge thing? Last time I checked, Harrison made all of his money and gained all of his fame and success with the Steelers. Last time I checked the Steelers were the only team to give him a legitimate shot in the NFL. The Steelers cut him twice before this year and the Baltimore Ravens also cut the former undrafted linebacker out of Kent State.
Harrison ended up becoming a defensive superstar with the Steelers, winning two Super Bowls and a 2008 NFL defensive player of the year award. He had a remarkable stretch from 2007-2010 accumulating 45 sacks and 23 forced fumbles in four seasons. Five Pro Bowls and two All-Pros as a Steeler, and not too mention his amazing Super Bowl XLIII interception return for a touchdown.
But Harrison is 35 years-old. He has bad knees and a bad back. Hence why no team is in a hurry to sign him. Not to mention the noise he brings to a team. Harrison has been in trouble on and off the field. He was arrested for a domestic-violence dispute in 2006 and said some very durogatory remarks about the NFL commissioner, including calling him a "Faggot". Harrison has also called out his teammates publicly which I'm never a fan of.
Harrison has made his bed. He could have worked out a new deal with the Steelers. His pride got in the way of taking a pay cut, despite that pay cut still being worth more than what he's going to end up getting. So James I have to ask, why you mad bro?
