Do you remember what it was like being a freshman in high school? Being the little guy, or the underdog. Regardless of what it was, 9th grade is one of the most difficult years in a teenager’s life… Especially if you’re a guy.
Let’s face it. If you were one of those “popular girls”, who never had trouble finding a date, or always had tons of friends, 9th grade probably wasn’t all that bad for you. Odds are, you had all of the upper-classmen boys hitting on you, and felt on top of the world.
Now for us guys, it was a little different…
I have never been able to fully understand why a big bad varsity jock senior, would want anything to do with a little freshman, or in some cases, middle-schoolers! (Yes parents, it does happen). When I was a freshman, I had always thought- “Come on man! You could have any girl in the entire school, why are you taking all of ours?”
This is similar to what Mark Sanchez is doing.
Sanchez, the New York Jets’ second-year quarterback out of USC, has just about everything a man could ask for. He makes almost ten mil a year, and could have any woman, (or as many “women), in New York City that he wants. Instead, he goes for a high school girl.
Although we don’t have a whole lot of information yet, it’s obvious that Sanchez has gotten himself into quite a dilemma. Apparently, the two had met at a nightclub in Manhattan on New Years Eve. They exchanged numbers, and he even gave her tickets to the Jets vs. Bills game. Later that week, they went on a date. Following dinner, they returned to his apartment in Jersey, where the alleged “hook-up” took place.
This isn’t the first time Sanchez has been involved in sexual allegations.
In 2006, while at USC, he was accused of sexual assault by a fellow female student, however no charges were ever filed.
Regardless of whether or not this relationship is legal, the 24-year-old Sanchez should still have no business being around a 17-year-old girl. What intentions would a man of his age; have of being with a girl that young? It just blows my mind that this guy would ignore all of his other options, and sacrifice his entire image for a high schooler.
Of course, in the end, he’s still Mark Sanchez! A media favorite! The golden boy! This negative attention won’t last long…
