The Panthers beat UNC-Asheville 74-51 on Thursday afternoon. They will face the Butler Bulldogs on Saturday night at 7:10pm on TBS. Butler went to the championship game just one year ago and lost to Duke. This will not be an easy out for Pitt. Butler has experience, shooting, and intelligent guard play.
For Pitt to win tomorrow night, they will need to do one thing: Take care of the basketball!!!!!! The first half of the UNC-Asheville game was difficult to watch. A team is not going to win the national championship when their guards are sloppy and turn the ball over. Luckily, they were more disciplined in the second half, but Butler is not a team you want to fall behind against.
Ashton Gibbs had a monster second half yesterday and finished the game with 26 points. Lets hope that streak continues tomorrow night. There are no more "easy games" for Pitt in the tournament. It's time to show up and play. 1 down, 5 to go for a national championship!
