My Power Rankings VS ESPN's Power Rankings
You can read the rest of ESPN's rankings right here.
Green Bay at number makes sense. I like the logic. They're the defending Super Bowl champions and they really didn't lose much so they should be number one. So that same logic should apply with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers are the defending AFC Champions and have basically the same team coming back.
To quote Ric Flair; "to be the man, you got to beat the man". WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I decided to do two different power rankings going up against ESPN. AFC and NFC.
AFC:
16. Cincinnati- Rookie qb, franchise is a mess, players in jail. Long year ahead.
15. Jacksonville- Cut David Garrard right before week 1. I feel bad for MJD.
14. Buffalo- Ryan Fitzpatrick at qb. Mediocre at all positions.
13. Denver- Kyle Orton is good but team just doesn't have enough.
12. Cleveland- Peyton Hillis is a beast but no big-time talent, no depth.
11. Oakland- 8-8 and lost their best player on offense (z.miller) and defense (asomugha)
10. Tennessee- New coach, team could surprise with Matt Hasslebeck and Chris Johnson
9. Miami- Got some good players, but the qb position holds them back.
8. Indianapolis- Might not have Peyton Manning, but they still have a lot of play-makers.
7. Houston- If defense really is improved this could finally be their year to go to the playoffs.
6. San Diego- Number 1 offense and defense should translate in more wins.
5. Kansas City- Team shocked last year. Young team a year older. I like them a lot.
4. Baltimore- If only Joe Flacco could beat the Steelers. Super Bowl caliber team.
3. New York Jets- One game away from the Super Bowl last two years.
2. New England- Tom Brady and Bill Belichick
1. Pittsburgh- Defending AFC Champs. Big Ben in his prime, still have great defense.
NFC:
16. Carolina. Worst team in the league last year with a rookie qb and coach.
15. Seattle. Tavaris Jackson might be the worst starting qb in the NFL.
14. Washington. Who should we start at quarterback, Rex Grossman or John Beck? lol
13. 49ers. Still have Alex Smith as their qb, still gonna be at the bottom of the barrel
12. Arizona. Larry Fitzgerald is a best. Kevin Kolb has questions. Maybe next year.
11. Minnesota. They keep losing depth. Secondary sucks. McNabb's career is over.
10. Tampa Bay. Josh Freeman keeps getting love, good young team, NFC is too deep though.
9. St. Louis- I think this is the year that they win the NFC West. Might do it at 8-8 though
8. Detroit- Ndamakung Suh might be the Defensive Player of the year this year. Stafford needs to be healthy.
7. NY. Giants- Already having injury problems but veteran team, 10-6 last year.
6. Dallas- Romo's healthy and Rob Ryan is coaching the defense.
5. Chicago- One game away from the Super Bowl. Cutler needs to step up.
4. Philadelphia- Most hyped up team in the NFL. Expectations might be too big.
3. New Orleans- Shocked in the playoffs. Drew Brees one of the best. They'll be back.
2. Atlanta- Best record in the NFC. Added Ray Edwards and Julio Jones. My Super Bowl pick from NFC.
1. Green Bay- Defending Super Bowl Champs.
