Tebow is completing less than 50% of his passes. Dreadful.
Tebow has a qb rating of 78.4 this year. Below Average.
However, Tebow has is 4-1 as a starter. And unlike some other qbs like Joe Flacco, Tebow did not inherit a great team around him. In fact, the Broncos were 4-12 last year, and were 1-4 with Kyle Orton this year.
Then the Broncos traded away Brandon Lloyd, their Pro Bowl receiver at the trade deadline. Whammy.
Critics were blasting Tebow, saying he's not an NFL qb, doesn't have the skill set to play qb. Should be a H-back or some sort of specialist. Why? Because he doesn't play the position in a tradiotional way? If that's the case then why don't more people say the same thing about Vince Young, Cam Newton, and Michael Vick?
Good qbs complete over 60% of their passes, the three quarterbacks I mentioned above me all complete less than that for their career.
In fact, before going to Philadelphia, Vick used to run around the entire game, complete about half of his passes,and would get praised and praised for his athletic ability.
But let's face it, Tebow is white and is a proud Christian. He gets made fun of and criticized for his openly-Christian views and gets criticized for not being a traditional qb.
But what if he were black? Jemele Hill needs to write that article. If you don't know who Jemele Hill is, she's a openly biased and racist "writer" for ESPN. They shove her ugly face on tv as much as possible.
If Tebow were black he would pretty much be a Vince Young or a Michael Vick, without the really big arm. Vick never had great stats, in fact his career passing stats are extremely mediocre. But he won games, and had great athletic ability. That's exactly what Tebow is and does, minus the felony convictions.
If Tebow were Muslim, no one would joke about his religious views. If you did you'd be a racist.
Fact is the NFL is about winning games. That's what Tebow has been doing. He's winning ugly, so what. Fantasy football is to blame for all of this. Cam Newton is 2-7 as a starter but gets praised because he has good fantasy football numbers. Fact is the Panthers have a more talented team around Newton than the Broncos have around Tebow. Newton's Panthers have lost 5 games by a touchdown or less. Tebow has that winning ability, the "it factor". I have yet to see that from Newton with the game on the line.
Going forward I have no idea how Tebow's career will pan out. Maybe he'll never become a good enough passer and will flake out of the league in a few years, or maybe he''ll get better as a passer and become a Super Bowl winning qb.
Maybe Tebow is the Messiah, Jesus reincarnated. Maybe that fan that ran on the field last night was under the influence of Tebow.
I have no idea how all of this will pan out. I know that Tebow is 4-1 as a starter and has "resurrected" the Denver Broncos this year.
