Has interleague play run it's couse?

For baseball purists it’s annoying. For fans, it’s an exciting time of year. Yes, interleague play is back for its 15th installment, but is this collision of league foes hurting the game?

Jagr rumors dying down fast

Well it was fun while it lasted. A bunch of us Pittsburgh Penguins' fans had a ball dreaming of Jaromir Jagr coming back to Pittsburgh to help win another Stanley Cup. Thinking about Jagr playing on either Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin's line. It put a smile on your face, didn't it?

Now it's time to wake up! Jagr's not coming back to Pittsburgh. I'd be surprised if he came back to the NHL. Fact is the only reason Jagr's name was brought up in the Penguins' organization was to extend a invite to Jagr for a golf outing that is also being used as a reunion for the 1991 Stanley Cup team.

When that happened the rumors went out of control. Jagr back to the NHL. Jagr back to the Pens. Jagr-Crosby-Malkin! Wooooooooooooooo!

Jagr himself has even contributed to the rumors, buttering up Penguin fans saying how nice it would be to play with Crosby and Malkin and how much he liked his time in Pittsburgh.

Jagr was doing this because he wants to have his number 68 jersey retired without getting booed. He also wants to build a higher demand for him so he can cash in on his new and most likely last contract of his career.

It would have been cool for it to happen. Too bad this is real life and not reality. Now the only thing left to be done is have Jagr comeback to Pittsburgh to have his jersey retired. If you're there that night and you boo, you deserve to be shot. Go Pens!

"We were able to get that invitation to him, and we'd like to acknowledge his involvement with the organization," Shero said, adding that he has not spoken with Jagr's agents. "That's really all there was to it." - Penguins GM Ray Shero via the Pittsburgh Tribue Review

Chad Johnson Rides a Bull. Proves He's a Jackass.

I really don't think there is another professional athlete more abnoxious, annoying, or more desperate for attention than Chad Johnson. The man is a joke. His football career is over and he is now trying his best to make himself look like more of a jackass. I didn't think that was possible. Cincinnati Bengals fans be proud!

Welcome to my daily top 5. Every day I will have a new top 5 to introduce to the world on the blog. Now these are my personal lists, so there's going to be debates about them. I rank these top 5's on a overall basis. For example, if it's a the top 5 qb's of all-time, then I'm doing it based on talent, accomplishments, and overall career success.

Hines Ward Held at Gunpoint by Police!

Wow, the Pittsburgh Steelers just love making non-football headlines in the offseason. First Rashard Mendenhall decided to take a stand against America on hiw Twitter.

Now Steeler's goldenboy reciever, Hines Ward,  was handcuffed at gunpoint Thursday morning in Los Angeles after police pulled over a car he was in that had been reported stolen. Of course TMZ is the only media source reporting this, because the Pittsburgh Post Gazette won't, owned by the Steelers.

This from TMZ-

The "Dancing with the Stars" contestant was a passenger in a Honda Civic around 2 AM ... when LAPD officers flipped on their lights and sirens and pulled the car over.

Law enforcement sources tell us cops had run the license plate and noticed the car had been reported stolen. We're told police drew their weapons ... and ordered both Hines and the female driver out of the car and placed them both in handcuffs.

The female driver then explained ... SHE was the person who reported the car stolen in the first place after an incident involving a valet. But she got her car back ... and forgot to tell cops to call off the alert.

We're told the officers verified her story -- and eventually let both Hines and the driver leave without further incident. Law enforcement sources tell us Hines was VERY cooperative and understanding about the situation.

The natural question arises: a Honda Civic? Hines couldn't spring for the Accord for he and his lady friend? I know the lockout has made it tough for NFL players, but come on.

TMZ reports that once police cleared up the mess, Ward and his friend were allowed to leave the scene. The Steelers wideout was "very cooperative and understanding" during the incident.

Now, don't jump to any conclusions, because as Ward's teammate Rashard Mendenhal  would tell you on his Twitter, there's two sides to every story. Of course, Steeler fans will give Ward a pass. They always do. If it were Ben Roethlisberger, people would riot and protest. People would be on Grant Street burning number 7 jerseys.

Not Hines Ward. He can prance around on Dancing With the Stars in a gay sailor suit after he a down year, and after the Steelers lost Super Bowl XLV. What if that were Ben?

Hines Ward held out of training camp because of his contract. Free pass. What if Ben would have done that?

Hines Ward drops a pass. No big deal. Ben throws a incomplete pass. Booooooo! Booooo! Put Batch in!

Hines Ward could blow up a school bus full of children and Steeler fans would still support him

I'm now convinced that 75% of Steeler fans are brainwashed. Hines can do whatever he wants. Ben, who's never been arrested, charged, or convicted of a crime, can do nothing right. Right now Ben is getting married to a local Christian girl, and isn't even living with her out of respect of their religion. Hines is on dancing with the Stars, driving around the city of Los Angeles. But it's alright because it's Hines.

Steelers 2011 Draft Recap

Watching the Super Bowl last season was very painful for Steelers fans. It seemed as if Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson were open on every play, while the Steelers couldn’t catch a break.

You could have made the argument that the Packers played a perfect game, while the Steelers played mediocre, but regardless of the “excuses” made by fans, there was no doubt that the Steelers had a few holes to fill.
